New addition to the Workbench

Posted on 3 August, 2015 at 18:30

You can now see IMBC 18, a second gun crew for Maude's Battery, at the Workbench Page.  This crew will also be part of IMLA 8, the second 'half battery' set for Maude's Battery, which, don't forget, comes at a 16% discount over buying the components separately: by far the most economical way to field your artillery arm!

We've put a newly painted unit, HM 84th, into the Miniatures Gallery.

Tranche 2 Releases Out Now!

Posted on 23 July, 2015 at 9:20

Tranche 2 is out today and available from the Empress Miniatures webstore. There is a good deal of imagery of the new releases at the Miniatures Gallery page here and, likewise, on the IDM Facebook Page.  We are pleased to be able to offer discounted deals on a set of five flagsheets and on what we call the 'half-battery' sets of bullock-drawn artillery, consisting of a gun, a limber, a 4-man crew, a team of 6 bullocks and 2 Indian civilian drivers. Hope you enjoy the pictures and are moved to buy some of these great looking models. The more you buy, the more we'll make! I think that's how it works....isn't it your Grace?

Unit Galleries

The unit galleries for the Madras Fusiliers and the 78th Highlanders, at the 'Miniatures Gallery' page, have been updated. Any of the photos from the unit galleries can be lifted to other forums or websites should customers wish to do so.

Tranche 2 Release Imminent

Posted on 16 July, 2015 at 21:30

The Tranche 2 releases (see the 'Next for Release' header at the catalogue listing on the 'Products' page) will go up in the Empress Miniatures webstore in the middle of next week. IMLA 8, which has a high degree of commonality with IMLA 7, (the gun crews being the only component which differentiates the two codes), is the only item which will not be available at that time.  In other words the manhandling gun crew from Maude's Battery is ready, but the firing one is not and will be rolled out in due course as part of Tranche 3. Everything else at the Next for Release list will be on parade as forecast. Worth noting that the field guns (IMLA 1) and the limber (IMLA 2) are common to both sides of course, so you can't have too many of those!

The interval between Tranche 1 and Tranche 2 has been somewhat longer than we would have liked, albeit the delay was unavoidable, due to the relocation of the business premises of a key supplier. We thank you for your patience and hope that you managed to get a fair bit of Tranche 1 painted up during the pause. We hope to achieve a shorter interval between Tranche 2 and 3. Tranche 3 will consist primarily of  Mutineer infantry and gunners, but we hope also to release the first of our horse drawn artillery at the same time.

They will be available individually of course, but buy all five together in the same Empress order and you'll only be charged for four.

Finished Madras Fusiliers

Posted on 9 July, 2015 at 20:25

There is now a photo of a painted unit of Madras Fusiliers in the Miniatures Gallery. We've pressed the final draft of the Madras Fusiliers flagsheet into service. Every word on the flagsheets is legible, while the colours are beautifully vivid and will ensure that your units really cut a dash on the wargames table.
